Junior Class Activity Day

May 15 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Craters of the Moon is one of the premier geological destinations in the Intermountain West. Its raw volcanic landscape, much of which is only 2,000 years old, provides a fascinating window into Earth's interior. A product of a massive upwelling of material deep in the planet's mantle, Craters of the Moon, and the Snake River Plain of which it is a small part, is a laboratory of monumental geologic processes.
Not only is this destination an excellent component to any science curriculum, an understanding of what is happening underneath this haunting volcanc landscape is an avenue to eliciting a sense of awe and wonderment in our students.
