Since the start of this school year, I have received feedback from parents, staff and students questioning the secondary enforcement of the dress code policy in regards to t-shirts. I understand for all of us this has been difficult at times. It has always been our goal to enforce the dress code consistently. In terms of t-shirts, this has been hard to do. To address this issue, a committee was formed with parents, an administrator, a board member and a staff member in attendance. Another group, our lead team, including two administrators, two teachers, and a counselor also provided feedback. After much discussion it has been decided that t-shirts with graphics would not be allowed. T-shirts that are solid colors or have repeating patterns will be allowed. An outer layer over the t-shirt is not required. We will follow this procedure for the remainder of the school year. At the end of the school year, these procedures and the entire dress code will be reviewed.
