A Letter Regarding our Safety Procedures
Xavier Charter School is pleased to announce that we will be using the Raptor Visitor Management System beginning on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Raptor is a digital interface that allows us to track visitors and process their names against the various state sex offender registries. It will change how they sign in and out when on our campus. This will require all visitors to bring in a valid driver’s license, or other government-issued identification to the front office for the first visit.
Once that identification has been scanned and entry into the building is approved, the system will print a unique badge that identifies the visitor, date, and purpose of the visit. It should be noted that, for privacy purposes, neither a copy of your identification is maintained in the scanner, nor is it kept by the school.
If the system raises a question about a visitor’s background, the school administrator(s) will take the necessary steps to ensure the appropriateness of each individual’s visit.
Upon the initial visit, plan for the extra time it will take the front office to process identification. However, on return visits, visitors will only be required to enter their full name in the Kiosk system located by the front office. They will be required to wear this badge to be allowed entrance to the school and to proceed to their destination. To checkout, they will use the Kiosk to enter their name or scan the badge. After checkout, visitors will discard the badge.
A visitor’s badge will be required from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. It will not be required for those who visit Xavier Charter School simply to drop-off an item in the office, pick-up paperwork or checkin/ check-out their student.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we improve the safety and security for our students, staff, and community.
Sincerely,
Gary Moon
