Teachers of the Month

Congratulations to Bradley Hansen and Sharon Green, our October Teachers of the Month!

Name: Bradley John Hansen      Mr. Hansen Photo

Total Years of Teaching Experience: 5

Hometown: Twin Falls

Why did you choose teaching as a career:
Teaching things has always been a passion of mine. I have always loved training or the teaching of skills. When the opportunity presented itself to become a science teacher, I did not pass it up.

What do you like most about teachings at Xavier?
I love the culture that the students have. Everyone is accepted and it is a very welcoming.

When you are not teaching and working, what are you most likely to be doing?
I spend a lot of time with my family. I spend time with my wife and kids. When I have time by myself, I am usually tied up with a story of some sort; I play video games and reading and writing.

What do you wish your students knew about you? Not much.

Name: Sharon Green  Mrs. Green Photo

Total Years of Teaching Experience: 16

Years of Teaching at Xavier: 4

Hometown: Cottonwood, Arizona – 20 years (prior to Twin Falls 3.5 years ago)

Why did you choose teaching as a career?
I’ve always enjoyed working with young people, and I knew that whatever I ended up doing in life- I wanted to make a positive change in the lives of those around me.

What do you like most about teaching at Xavier?
I love the emphasis on citizenship and patriotism that is emphasized at Xavier. There are character building concepts that I firmly believe are what all of us should strive to be better at each day.

When you are not teaching and working what are you most likely doing?
If you ask my husband, he will tell you that he has lost me to the game of golf! I am addicted! I’m like a child running to the playground when I’m headed to Blue Lakes.

What do you wish your students to know about you?
I wish they knew how much I think of them every day. I worry about them and am constantly thinking of ways that I can be a positive role model for them.

Is there any other information about yourself that you would like to share?
I grew up with very little. My parents divorced when I was young. My mother raised five kids with very few resources. I did, however learn that I could do anything that I put my mind to. I would have never dreamed I would end up with the life I have today. Education is power, and I want to instill that nugget of truth into the minds of my students!
